Deployed & can't look @ my Evo 9-HELP!-Short shifter ?s

I'm deployed right now so im not able to look @ my car to see what I'll need for installing a short shifter. If someone can help I would really appreciate it.

I'm looking at different short shifters on lancershop.com: Authority shifter w/ CW knob, what's w/ the ugly knob? Can i just unscrew that?

Buscher Racing shifter: It says I'll need the shifter retainer? so I'll need this regardless no matter what shifter I get? (except WORKS, i know)

If you have a 6speed... i think only a few short shifters are made for them. Teh 5 speed will have more options. You will need the pivot cup to install a short shifter. The WORKS includes one which is why I bought that one. But you can always buy the oem retainer/pivot cup from the dealer or cut up the stock shifter and re-use that one.

Any of the different 5 speed short shifters for the evo will work, ebay special to WORKS...

You may want to look at the TWM ones as well. Super nice pieces.

Same problem with me, I'm in Trashcanistan trying to shop for my Evo IX lol
Will the stock shift knob fit on the Works shifter or any other shifter?
I think I'd prefer the Works just because it comes with all the necessary hardware so I don't have to hack and pull from the stock shifter.

Thanks for the help

If you don't mind hacking up the base, i'd just got with an ebay kit. I have it and it works fine.

If you have a 5-speed, we've got a group buy going on right now!
