Does the RPM seem to jump a bit between a certain range? If so, most likely your clutch is starting to go.. are you still on your original clutch? If so.. welcome to the world of the EVOs... the stock clutches are useless... get a good aftermarket racing clutch.. with those, you will hear a whirling noise when engaging and disengaging the clutch but this is normal...

explain more what ur problem is. If your RPM's rise fast like your accelerating fast when u punch it, yet your car isn't gaining any speed, then you have a slipping clutch. you're friction material is gone and u need to replace it. not cheap ill tell u that

I have the same noise with mine too. It's like the TOB noise only you can hear and feel it under hard acceleration.

I have only about 1100 miles on my car i dont think my clutch can go that fast can it? i havnt been too hard on it.. havnt launched it numerous times... im still on my original clutch i havnt put an aftermarket one in yet.. My rpms rise fast but i am accelerating fast.. its not like there rising but im not getting anyway.. the car hauls *** its just i can hear this loud humming noise along with the turbo screaming... i usually hear the noise when i start to accel hard like say im traveling at about 40 in 3rd gear, then i slam the pedal down to take off.. the car rips but i can hear this loud humming noise, it gets louder as i accel harder... the pedals vibrate a bit and i can hear it the best when i take my foot off the pedal after acceling hard for the first second or two... i hope that all makes some sense and can help some1 tell me my problem... i once read something about some1 with a familiar problem and i think some1 mentioned something about a throw out bearing? help please : (

I have almost 9,000 miles on my car. It didn't start making the acceleration noise untill 8,000 miles. Do you have the TOB noise at idle? With that amount of miles on your car I don't think it's the same noise.
