ETS Intake Install #FAIL

I can't post pics from my iPhone, but I have pics if I can email or text them to someone.

My intake filter from intake is rubbing on the hood & on the I believe ACD reservoir.

Anyone have this problem or know what I can do?

I also have the ets intake, Its a common problem from what i hear. it crushed my intake against the reservoir and dented the fliter. I just moved the pipes as far as they can go in the coupler towards the turbo

rubbing on the hood is common, why don't you move it to the right a little bit, the reservoir have two bolts, try use one bolt ( if you know what i mean)

Pic? Normally its not that hard to make fit. If for some reason its longer or clocked wrong ETS will most likely take care of it. Posting the word fail in the thread makes them less likely too however.

I had the same problem, I just cut the coupler so I could move it further down the intake pipe. Fits nicely now.

You can also just rotate the entire intake pipe toward the battery
which will make the filter sit a bit lower in the bay

+1 on rotating the pipe. I have this intake and if you take it off and aren't paying attention how you put it on, it will be angled weirdly. Loosen the clamps and twist to your liking.

Utility knife and a straight edge guide.

Or cut the metal intake pipe a little shorter.

in your pic it looks like if you fab up a bracket to brace the intake it should keep it from hitting the acd reservoir, and saving your filter. I would try making a brace before hacking away at your intake first, imo.

you don't need to cut it. I use the amsoil dry filter which is gigantic and I have fited it with the perrin 4.5" filter with no problems. Just grab on to the acd bracket and bend the whole thing forward. It doesn't look crappy, you can't even tell. Then rotate the filter/maf connection of the intake towards the battery. Mine doesn't hit the hood or the acd, the top ring of the filter rests against the fuse box but it isn't causing a problem.

I'm not that impressed with it but figure it works well enough that I'll just keep it until I do the turbo upgrade.

Isn't that a intake supposed to be used without a maf?
