I grew out of the 'jdm-angled' exhausts. lol I'd look more into the Buschur or Magnaflow imo. But for your three choices, if you have the money, get the AMS.

I HAD that high dollar carbon ti hks exhaust. It sounds good and it does taper. Now I have the Megan and I couldnt be happier. Its a true 3" exhaust and it was a fraction of the cost. I think the Megan is the best sounding cbe for the evo. People will say what they want just bc its a Megan. Take it from me bc I have personally owned two of the three brands you listed. Ive gotten compliments from other evo guys on how good my car sounds, esp WOT.

AMS will make more power but the HKS will sound nicer, I personally like the HKS.

brings me back to my original point of the car not sounding like a pissed off Honda, because HKS has a unique sound and with my cams the car sounds sick but thats my opinion offcourse. BUT i am not gona lie soon I will be getting me a buschur cbe with a bullet muffler...talking about bad *** exhaust or sound.

I think the HKS Carbon Ti has 75 mm piping all the way.

when i first got my IX GSR i researched for 4 ful onths before i purchased my exhaust, all mayor companies local here, Tanabe, HKS, Greddy, finally Megan offered me full TBE for less than 650 bucks, 3" SS piping, best bang for the buck i made lots of power on it, it was not loud only at WOT

If I remember correctly it was 2.75", I think all of the JDM exhaust taper with the exception of the Greddy units. Again, I said think. I did like the support plate that comes with the HKS exhaust though. If I had to put a label to the sound of them I would say the HKS has a "smooth" sound whereas the Megan sounds more "aggressive"

Has anyone ever gone from AMS to Megan? Thing is right now on my EVO its the AMS sounds raspy.... Got an offer for an hks hi power exhaust but also I have a friend who doesn't want his full Megan exhuast... So I don't know if i should keep what I have or go with one of those... I'm looking for a decent sounding exhaust mine seems to scream civic under boost

Also my car is tuned at 617 whp on e85 and 450 on pump.... Does that play a role in the sound and also would I be screwing with the tune to be changing exhausts...
Noob question I know but just making sure

no you should be fine when you swap exhausts, if you are tuned with a 3'' then you will have no problem when you go to another 3'', the flow will be the same.

I had the Megan exhaust and was happy with it, with a resonated test pipe the sound was a bit tamer than the AMS TBE I have now with a regular test pipe.
