Can older DSM Turbo's be adapted to work on an EVO 8?

In the new issue of Sport Compact Car, they said your down pipe requires the purchace of a new brace (with a bend in it that compramises regidity)

Our downpipe is the same way. It uses spacer to lower the brace.

WRONG! The evos use lh rotation turbos and the rest of the free world, save the srt-4 use rh rotation units. You can use any dsm turbo if you purchas a manifold from buschur racing. That is a big piece in the kits they will sell which will use the br series turbos orginally intended for dsms. You will either need the buschur o2 housing or a custom one as well. Happy boosting!
Ok, just pop you hood, and bolt on a DSM 20G, do it right now with no other modifications.
WHOOPS
or, get a custom manifold, Down Pipe, Swap the intake and MAKE ROOM for it to fit on the other side, then yeah, it'll bolt on, so will it to any other car you do that too.
I think he was asking if you just pop the hood and bolt the sucker in, like te DSM world accepts 14-16-20G's and so on, this stocke evo will not.

Here is a pic of the manifold you would use for that turbo. The pic of the manifold has been coated yet. So it will look a lot cleaner and nicer. Just a reference for you to see.
Retail $595 w/Jet hot coating

We could make an 02 housing, but we currently haven't done one. Or we could supply you the flange and have a muffler shop do it locally. You will need the whole downpipe.

To answer your question. A 1990-1999 DSM turbo will NOT bolt onto your '03 EVO8.
Can you install one of these turbos on the car? Sure, it does require a different exhaust manifold and a custom 02 housing, water and oil lines.
Our turbo kit that we are STILL waiting on will use these style turbos. The reason for this is there is no sense in going with anything new with the power and reliability we have worked so hard to get out of these turbos over the years.
I did talk with the CNC shop yesterday and they said the first two manifolds will be done next week. Finally.
