Can't go wrong with the Kelford's , they are amazing!

Jun has nice cams, but WAY more expensive. The GSC s2 is a good one as well.

But my vote goes for Kelford 272's for daily driven monster.

A bit off topic, Jonesey but you list your cam gears as being set at -4/-1 with your Kelford 272 cams. How does this setting compare with the same cams being set straight up at 0/0? Were you aiming to improve power in the higher rev range, for instance? Just wondering.

Actually it made the midrange fatter, and also helped the lop at idle SUBSTANTIALLY.

Kelfords are tuff to beat for the money. Gsc's are good too. 6 in one, half dozen in the other.

S1s over Kelfords? Hmmm... I would've thought the s2s as an "on par" with them, not the s1. Then again, the Kelfords and S2 would really need springs and retainers upgraded too.

Kelfords are consistently one size smaller than what they seem from the power output. S1s are 268s, the Kelfords make 20whp or so less than S2s which would put them on par with S1s. I am saying it more based on his usage and intended goal. S1s will peak lower and give a nice fat powerband which is what it seems like he is after vs something that you have to rev out more.

Dave had some dyno results and issues with some Kelford 272s awhile ago. I cant find the exact thread but as I recall he noticed the cams seemed to be more prone to inducing knock on stock computer cars. I think there were some other issues as well.

I just spent the time between that post and this post to find out the thread has been deleted due to politics. I wouldnt be worried that they wont work (anything is better than stock), I am just trying to say there are plenty of options and in my experience the GSC cams work better.

I know that a given combo I will make 20whp more on S2s than TX272s. I think some of it is the engineering, some is the centerline, some of it is ramp rate, etc. They are close but defiitely not the same. I think the S1s and the TX272s are roughly about the same for what they do.

That was on an Evo 9 though right? On Evo 8s the Kelfords and Gsc's are neck and neck right? Kelford just don't do their homework on the 9 ? I have an 8. P.s..... thank you for your time Aaron.

My findings apply to both MIVEC and non MIVEC. I have seen it on VIIIs vs each other, VIIIs vs IXs, and IXs vs each other.

no. kelfords are good cams.. there alot better then s1's and there on the same level as s2s for an evo 8 and if there not its by the slightest difference that you would never tell. s1s are garbage compared to kelford 272s.
