Overboost

Well I have a 0234 code which is overboost. I do not have time to get a tune or do much work but I need to drive the car. Is it fine to drive?

stay.out.of.boost. Turn your boost controller completely to 0

I dont have a boost controller. Is this detrimental to my engine if I still drive it?

do not drive the car

Exactly what PSI is indicated on your boost gauge when it throws the code? You have a boost gauge, right? How much boost are you running?

I've talked to you about this and still can't understand why you're trying to make your life more difficult. The stock DV is a fantastic piece, yet you're looking to improvise while knowing very little about the platform. To what end? The odds are that your car was modified and put back to stock. You're in the Bay Area. There's more than one competent Evo shop near you. How about having someone who knows what he's doing check out your car and possibly save you a great deal of time and money?

I have the stock mr gauges and when I boost it hits above the 1.5 bar on the gauge. I dont have a boost controller.

go see sean @ full function, your going to have to make time until then don't drive the car.

fftec's dyno isn't ready right now since they just moved shops but I'm sure he can do a road tune for now.
(if your in the bay)

If it's on factory mapping the TBE is making you overboost and throw the code. Been a well documented thing since 03 here in the states.

You can drive the car just keep it out of boost and get it tuned

if its your only car then yes staying out of boost is your best option

as the previous poster said TBE with no tune does cause over boost..hopefully that's the only thing going on here.
