replacing my mr transmission.

I will be replacing my first EVO transmission next weekend any hints or suggestions ill be doing it at a shop with a lift and all the air tools ill need. I've only ever dropped Honda trannys in the past. Just looking for some good insight. Thanks Jordan

Thanks i have already read through this i was just looking for any other points that could help i have also looked through the thread about dropping the steering rack and sub-frame anyone think its better to do it that way?

I wouldn't drop the subframe as it can mess with your steering (mine is off by a few teeth because my subframe accidentally dropped).

The main pointers are you jack up your front suspension when trying to get the front axles back in. This allows them to slide in fully to avoid oil leaks. Other than that, you might need to remove some of the mounting studs on the tranny to get past the frame. I just pull my whole engine when I do the tranny because it is less of a hassle for me than trying to wrestle the transmission out. I replace clutches far enough apart to where the extra time it takes me isn't really a big deal (2 day process for me). It gives me an excuse to clean up the engine bay too.

Having access to a lift will definitely help though.

ratchet wrenches are going to be your friend on this one especially for the back mount. good luck man.
