Question Kelford 272 cams Threaded wrong?

I just went to install my kelford 272's in my evo 8 and the threaded whole for the CAS is threaded M12x1.25. The bolt that came out of the original cam is no bigger tha 8mm. WTF!!! Is this normal? I managed to get a bolt but had to use a thin wall socket for it to fit in the CAS.... What is the deal, please give me your thoughts!!!
