'tink'

I'm having issues troubleshooting a noise . Im getting a distinct 'tink' noise from the drvers front wheel well.
This happens most often in the lower gears for example first gear , clutch fully engaged 1500 rpms i tap the gas and tink ,, sharply release the throttle and tink again... Sounds dreadfully similar to a downpipe tapping on tcase ect... but it isnt..

I took care to thoughly check the brake system , all motor mounts , suspension , i have grabbed the rotor and violently shaken it back and forth and cannot reproduce the sound.
I removed the lower tie brace bars , jammed silicone couplers in the downpipe where its close to the Tcase to make sure its not tapping, retightened every bolt in the front half of the car.

The reason im posting this here is to ask if anyone has had an AXLE make noises like this (they usually make sounds when turning i thought).??

Perhaps the TCASE?????

Or something Internal in the Trans, Clutch spring , input bearing.

Im going to try the axle next as its the least amount of work and money its just strange that i cannot reproduce the sound with the front end off the ground and rotating the wheel back and forth with the car in gear...

Thanks if any can help.

Throw out bearing might be bad. You're putting a load on the drivetrain each time the sound is made.

I don't think it's your axles. You would notice grease from the boots and clicking noise while turning.

Tie rods and ball joints all look good?

Yeah, make sure nothing important is getting ready to fall off. Beyond that, if it is nothing more than "tink", I wouldn't get too excited. Evos don't have much sound deadening - you hear everything.

When I first heard a 'tink' sound it was my transmission that had grenaded. You need to get it up on a lift with a stethoscope to determine exactly where the sound is coming from. I thought I had broken something this weekend too and it ended up being a loose spot weld on the HKS logo tab on the downpipe. Metallic clinking sounds are generally not a good thing though.

TOB has less then 1k miles , and noise has been getting progressively louder and was around before the TOB , Front end has Whiteline BJ and Tie rod ends Just over a year old that appear perfect still.

My car is an RS i hear everything the only things i worry about are things that get louder or change, this is one of them , i dont wanna have something stupid break at my next track day and cost me a buncha money better to find it now.

SO no-one heard a tinking before their Tcase or axles take a ****

How many miles on the car? Still stock TC and tranny? What type of clutch do you have?

If you have ruled out everything with the suspension and body, then I would start looking at the drivetrain.

Check to make sure you don't have any excessive play in your wheels. Rule out wheel bearings.

I've had to replace lots of axles over the years and pretty sure it's not your axles.

Car is 06 RS 39k, Trans has been built by Jacks 18 months ago, Had to put in a new input shaft and bearings last winter , tilton ate the input shaft.... Currently ACT 6 puck sprung HD pressure plate.
TC is stock .
Wheel bearings seem okay no real play in them and i cant reproduce the sound by shaking the wheels whatsoever, Noise is NEVER present when turning back and forth hard , only when drivetrain is shifting
