blown up their evo yet? mine kinda blew up yesterday on the dyno. #1 and #3 pistons are missing pieces off the top, closed the gap on those 2 plugs, bent the 8 valves for those 2 pistons, and the combustion chamber of #1 is pretty torn up. that was on stock boost while tuning the autronic. put down 280 awhp on a mustang dyno (about 322 on a dynojet) on the run before it blew up.

That's what happens when someone who doesn't know what they're doing tries to tune a stand-alone. Or maybe your engine just had defects from the factory. Other evos have hit 550 whp succesfully on stock internals, so I don't see how it could be an engine problem unless something was defective, especially at those power levels...

well these guys have tuned about a dozen evo's anywhere from stock w/standalone to I/E/cams/turbo/etc. with standalone so i'm guessing it was just a defect. i don't think they made any changes between the run when i put down 280 and the next run when it blew up...
