doing alot of reading here and i have come to the conclusion that i am either gonna go with a act xtss or a nice used exedy twin....my tranny had issues and is curently being rebuilt at shep.should be another couple weeks til i get it back.went with the ultimate shep trans. any way.i have a 84mm red tuned by mellon with all the bolt ons kelford 280's 880cc bushur injectors ported map intake and exhaust manifolds. spolin up cop..upper and lower pipes and a ets 3 1/2 core. i am sure i am missing something but everything adds up to about 450 whp 430 trq...i previously had a act hdss clutch and adjusted my pedal correctly but was having massive lockout issues..never slipped once and it had 18k on it.when removed it looked like new but my tranny didnt..ill be using the car as a dd but ocasionally ill go to the track or gun it on the road one in awhile.. i did go ahead a get my stock flywheel resurfaced and went ahead and bought a full act xtss clutch kit..but i am reconsidering because this is the last time i want to pull my tranny and i like what the exedy does...i dont mind buying a used exedy but skeptical..what should i do..it seems like a hit or miss with these act's but they hold gobs of power.
I did the same thing as you. Stock resurfaced flywheel and the xtss street disk. I daily drive my car and to be honest, once you get used to the slight pedal stiffness, it feels just like the oem clutch except holds tons of power. I've had no issues with it thus far. However, if I don't shift fast enough after 7200rpm, I do get locked out. Now I'm wondering if an engine torque dampener would reduce lockout.
