forge pistons or not

forge pistons or not

hey guys.

im looking at upgrading my stock as a rock evo ix. ive sussed out the parts and upgrades but want to know if you guys recon i should go out and but forged piston, rods ect.

looking at making 320-350atwkw running about 27-28psi

You'd be fine for now using the stock bottom end. But of course building it would be better in the long run IMO.

350 kw is about 460 HP. At that level, you can get away with the stock bottom end, but you're pushing it. People have gone further, but people have blown engines with less.

I'd say it depends on how much you have to spend and how hard you're actually going to beat on it. If you have the money, or are going to be racing it every chance you get, then yea, better internals will probably save you some time.
