reason you'll have to crack the bleeder is so you can get the clutch pedal down so the starter will engage, you won't lose brakes because there is a chamber for the clutch off to the side in the brake reservoir.
theres a plug under the pedal that when you unplug it you can start the car without the clutch pedal. im surprised you didnt know that.. its been there even on the dsm's.

Buy AAA. I'm surprised more people don't have AAA especially if you drive an Evo.. Tsk tsk tsk.. Buy the premium plan and you get 1 FREE 200 mile tow and 2 FREE 100 mile tows per year. Not to mention all the discounts you get and free gas if you run out.

And at this point I think I've given up on trying to limp the car home, too far and too many stoplights. Now more on what is actually wrong with her...

I've popped the wedge collar off mine before and the clutch pedal can be moved with no problem.. if you take the slave cylinder off the transmission the pedal should go to the floor, and put it back on it won't move? New one on me, but sounds like hopefully damage is limited to the clutch and throw out bearing area

Today i looked into the inspection hole thingy on the bottom of the transmission housing. A chunk of metal fell out and upon further inspection the throw out bearing appears to wobble and barely stays in there... That cant be good...

You need a clutch...ACT clutches are KNOWN for the springs and stuff falling apart in the disks....and the high rpm lockout.
