hey im installing an old style quartermaster twin and i dont have the install instructions.

Is there a certain way that the clutch discs need to be intalled. or can they be put in any orientation.

Of course there is an oriantation, call the manufacture.

 

Flywheel-short hub-intermediate disk-tall hub-pressure plate/clutch cover. Tall parts of the hubs away from the flywheel.

Personally, I would just order a set of the gear-drive disks for it now. They're supposed to last longer and not beatup the trans input shaft.

After looking closer I saw my first set of disks had their hubs beatup by the input shaft, and the 2nd set of disks had a hub fail, taking the input shaft with it. The trans was a fresh shep rebuild, so it's unlikely it made it through them, and MAP without anyone noticing a pre existing problem with the input shaft.
