Stuck on motor decision...
My gf and I both have evos. 8 and a 9. Her 8 just spun a bearing and my motor runs perfect. I was thinking about swapping my long block into hers and building her motor up for my car because she doesnt race it. Im wondering if this is the best route and if so, what kind of build I should go for? I have about 4-6k to work with. Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

+1 you could def build the whole block, by the time you start adding the head in and all the components for a full motor build + labor it can be beyond 6+ easy all day. Depends on what you want. great street motor is BR 2.3!
Considering your budget and the fact that you still have a good core, stay 4G63 (aka, avoid the 2.4) and do a 2.3 stroker.
Used to not be a fan of the 2.3 on paper because of the piston speed/inability to rev high, but now that I own one, I am sold. Drives much more like a muscle car. I currently own 2 evo's, one with a stock motor and turbo and the other with a 2.3 and a black and the black actually has much punch down low which is surprising.

English long rod 2.4L with a 4g64 block.
Your core value of your 4g63 is pretty good and 4g64 blocks are pretty cheap.
or if you want to stay 4g63... I'd do a LR 2.0L
English Racing all the way. Give Aaron a call

how fast are you trying to go? do you want something streetable or will this mainly be used at a track. Since your on a budget I would consider going with a 2.3L with a stock 9 turbo and have some fun :-)
