Lucas is brains behind my gear selection- he has built quite a few 4g63 on exactly the same platform, might want check it out I think he also knows what he is doing like chad.
If they sucked neither of these people would be using them , period.

CP Pistons is one of the top piston manfacturers in the USA. Justincase above has the best rotating assembly money can buy and leaving the assembly up to Chad = one bullet proof short block.

Do yourself a favor, call CP, Wiseco, JE, Arias, Ross. Tell them you want to make a custom piston. See which one of them is willing to do so and which one of them asks the most questions about the bore, stroke, deck height, head gasket, bowl chamber cc etc...

WOW. I did not think I was going to get a reply in this thread at all.

The offset pins in those J&E pistons scares me a little.

I would like something in a 10:1 compression in the 2.3 stroker. My turbo selection is also up in the air. Is there an off the self piston with the 10:1 and the coating that CBRD refered to for the 2.3? I only looked on ebay as I have been a little busy lately.

I appriciate all the replies!!! I am happy to see these pistons being used. I was going to use them back in the day on my dsm but went J&E and Eagle. I want something that is going to last!!!

Thanks again!!!

yes- CP may have some 10:1 100mm stroker pistons-

if you are staying 4G63 block you may want to consider going 94mm/156mm/100mm type setup for a longer rod-

there are about 1000 ways to slice a cake- just pick the one that best suits your tastes-

Cost always factors into the equation and going to a 94mm stroke means getting a manley crank ($1500) or a Winberg crank ($3000). 100mm stroke means buying a cheap crankshaft from a 4G64 and getting your money back by selling your 4G63 crankshaft. Is the 4G64 crankshaft as stout as the 4G63?

AMS' 2.3rr states that they increase the deck height (how?) of the 4G63 to get the high revs. Buschur does not state any specs on their website to how they do the 2.3rpm.

Does anyone make an off the shelf piston that would work with 156mm rod/100mm stroke in the 4G63?

Ok more shops then I knew run them but plenty still don't.

Top according to who? Show me statistics of them running in the top percentage of motorsports.

Already did, JE and Ross both asked all the questions regarding the engine specs.

I never said that CP's suck for a fact, in my opinion they aren't something I'd go with. OP wanted opinions, he got mine.

I run JE 10:1s, and even though they are quite noisy, they're a very strong piston. Never used CP though. My car is a DD and is responding well to the many miles I put on the built motor.

I will be making up my mind this week and ordering pistons. Need to get them and start this build. I hate being cheap, I wish I could get myself to just send in my core and get a nice pretty shortblock back!!!

I have been running CP for almost 9 years now.

One set is installed in my 147 mph drag car ,, the other set has been in my daily driver evo, which sees about 25 k a year

They are a quality piston without a doubt. Unfortunately all you are going to get is just opinions from folks.

It is great to hear so many people are running CP pistons. I had no idea. Need to really figure out what I am going to do soon so I can get the ball rolling.
