Need help quick

Ripping out the transfer case that is whining to send out to be rebuilt and I'm stuck on this last suspension cradle bolt/nut

The bolt itself is not accessible from the top whatsoever.. It's built into the actual frame itself. The nut will not thread off past the point it is at and is spinning the bolt with it.

I have used prybars to put pressure inbetween the nut and bolt and I am also using air tools...

What can I do to get this nut off?

Yikes, that has happened to quite a few people on here. You'll have to cut into the area above it to gain access to the area to secure the bolt down. If the bolt is spinning freely you've broken what was holding it in there. Frame shop should be able to fix it.

Car has the exhaust removed, front driveshaft removed and both axles and is on a lift. Dont really have the means to take it to another place.

Just throwing this out there. Since you have undone the nut a bit and no thread is exposed, would that have pushed the bolt up? Is is possible the bolt has been pushed out of the slot that holds it in place? Possible to pull the bolt back down into that slot?

I've never worked or gone near my t case so I'm just wildly guessing.

I believe from the factory that bolt was welded into the frame, After so many years and Harsh northern winters the impact from the air gun torquing on it broke the weld and is now making the bolt spin I think..

Good idea though

Update : I used an air saw and started sawing off the nut can I cut through to get access to the top of the bolt and then reweld once we have the new one on?

Neeed some input here fellas.

I personally never had to remove the cradle to access the TC. I usually unbolt the front and rear motor mount, lift the radiator up half way, then rock the motor forward and then drop it down. (downpipe, licp, and all that good stuff from the bottom of the car has to be removed)

heat the nut with a torch until cherry red then use a 1/2 impact as you pry down on the part above it. no oxy acetylene torch? grab an ordinary road flare. they burn at about 1400 degrees.

I've already cut the nut in half.. I'm going to have to re thread the bolt with a new nut.... Problem is I have no access to the top of the bolt without cutting into the frame to access it.

Clean the threads as best you can and try to spin the nut on with an air gun. A little side force on the bolt as you do it will help.
