USDM EVO add AYC rear diff

Hi
I'm thinking I'm going to import AYC rear diff from japan and put my evo project car. but before, i want discuss to makes sure exact AYC work on USDM Evo. anyone has experience installed ayc on USDM evo?
so far, i searched internet, AYC set is AYC rear diff, pump, pair of rear axle, ecu
so i was wondering, USDM ACD has pump too, so are they 2 device using one same pump or using independent each pump.
also im curious, that ACD AND AYC using one ECU or each different ecu. USDM 05 06 has ACD so they have ACD controller, so if both device using one ECU just need reflash ecu.
also wondering rear diff mount. USDM diff and JDM diff suing same diff mount or different mount
USDM driveshaft compatiable with JDM AYC diff

IF ANY ONE KNOW THE INFORMATION, PLEASE SHARE INFORMATION
THANKS

having driven both ayc and plated type diff i wouldnt retro fit an ayc diff i would put a set of Weir plates in your own diff .

it uses same pump for both which has 3 solenoids and 3 ports one for acd and two for ayc . rear drive shafts are different as is the prop shaft . it also uses the abs sensors for wheel speed and they are connected to both abs and ayc/acd ecu.

I know this is going to open a can of worms but let me ask it anyway...what's the purpose of the car you are doing it to?

ayc

I would just go with a good 1.5 rear and let that ***** eat. ayc is good but most track cars have 1.5 rear. AYC switch is a lot of work and money for what it is. I like 1.5 better myself. Japs even get rid of ayc for something else, usually a 1.5

Highly doubt it. The UK boys remove the AYC rear diffs and replace them with the RS ones for more power applications.

purpose for time attack car. focus on stable cornering ability but if AYC can not hold Hi-HP then I'm not going to put it in my car. thats why i'm asking people

I'm thinking install front cucso 1 way LSD and rear also 1.5 way LSD, but if I install rear 1.5 way with ayc diff it would much stable corner. I dont like slip rear side. did you guys saw best motoring lancer evo 8 season. that movie comes evo 8 puma. never slip rear side or understeer.

What are your current suspension mods? I wouldnt bother retrofitting ayc into your evo. Go send your rear diff to TRE and get the max lock 1.5 way. I think you will get the results you are expecting doing this and you will like the new found handling ability.

I haven't watched that DVD in a while and I could have sworn that particular car had AYC disabled (I remember the rally car had customized ACD)...but like the others above note any serious competition track car either seriously customizes how AYC works or turns it off completely.

Its going to be expensive to get that retrofitted and actually won't solve the "rear sliding" problem you outline above. Best bet for you would the be for you to get hooked up with a shop that does time attack builds and can give you advice on what to do particularly if you plan to build a 600hp+ car.

current, i'm building my car. I have Ohlins DFV with swift spring set up
today i found some thread on google that some guys says evo 8 and 9 AYC is very storng only evo 7 is weak. Evo 8 or 9 ayc, Many people 500 or 600 HP setup without trouble
If i put cusco 1.5way LSD on USDM rear diff then it's still very good setup but if I put AYC + 1.5way CUSCO LSD then I think computer can more delicacy controlled awd when cornering. if I put voltex TC controller, it woould best set up i think. ( voltex reflash ACD unit controlled ACD AYC both and it can be on rail corner without any slip or drift rear side or understeer)
this is my final goal that's why u;m trying to put AYC in my project car

Just realized this is in the wrong section of the forum. Repost this in the suspension or motor sports part of the forum so you'll get more input from those guys there.

Yes it can I'm on 450kw atw (604hp) wit ayc and holding up no problems. Have done four track days wit it too. Before that I had 370kw atw wit over ten track days and so far ayc holding up. Fyi my mate that won time attack last year in open class (1.34 at eastern creek) has ayc and hes a regular at the circuit.
