Question Difference in o2 housing gaskets?

I was wondering if there is a difference between o2 housing gaskets, OEM vs Aftermarket...

would an undivided (OEM) gasket on an aftermarket divided o2 housing affect performance/power?

The OEM one is not divided...which im guessing would cause some sort of turbulence in the o2 housing...heres a pic of the OEM one:

and heres a pic of the one that usually comes with aftermarket o2 housings...clearly it is divided...

the reason i ask is because im currently running an aftermarket o2 housing without a gasket...but was told by a vendor on here that i could use the copper gasket spray, and that it shouldn't leak...so i did that...
i sprayed all surfaces that needed to be sealed and let it sit until it got tacky...installed my o2 housing and

but im pretty sure i have a small exhaust leak...i can smell the exhaust gas coming from the hood vent.

im wondering if i should get a divided or use the OEM undivided gasket.

I always use a gasket, never use the spray unless its in addition to the gasket.
Regardless of recirculated or dumped o2 housings I always use a divided gasket.

The more surface contact your gasket has, the better the seal is that you will get. not using a gasket at all doesn't sound like a good idea to me. The copper spray is great to seal very tiny imperfections on a gasket surface, but not as a gasket replacement.

I am still just using the copper spray gasket with our 02 dump...No leaks...If the flange on whatever 02 housing you are running isn't perfectly flat that may be why it is leaking now. If you are going to run a gasket with an 02 dump it has to be a divided gasket, it doesn't matter which gasket with a recirc 02.

So wouldn't there be a small pocket of exhaust gasses that meet before the collector in a recirc o2 housing? Wouldn't it cause some issues with "turbulence"?

I have a dump and I first had a non divided gasket and it was leaking out at idle, once I got a divided gasket it made such a big difference in being quieter, I rather have it quieter and lose a hp anyday but you don't have a dump so your noise shouldnt change. I made a thread about this when I did mine but it's pretty much about what I just said and I got it from MAP.
