the driveshaft is different too, and the Evo7 + has a longer wheel base than an Evo 4-6. So you'll need to modify one of those too

Why not order the right transfer box?
Ross Sport has one for a TME in stock.

For swapping a 7/8/9 transfer to a 5/6/6.5 you will need a different front sub-frame, Momentum for what i know of is the only one to sell this ready to fit, plus a 7/8/9 steering box and axles, i've just done this in my drag tme......

I have 4 here in florida. have good spare cases. what is failing?? only thing that is weaker comparing the two ( 4 and 8 ) is the front diff. 4 more likely to shatter on hard launch.

subframes wont interchange by the way. so swapping to evo 8 case is far more difficult than you realize.

You could try joining the forums here in Australia . Also BTW not all TMEs are equal , the ones Ralliart brought into Australia are TME RS2s where I think most JDM TMEs were GSRs . You may want to check if the TME GSR variant got the slightly faster rack , pretty sure the RS2s all did .

All TME got the faster rack, which is the same as the evo5/6 RS rack, the evo4 RS also has the same quick rack except the power steering lines into it are slighty different.
