TD05HR turbo shaft play.. rebuild or replace??

Hi, I have a JDM stock Evo 8 TD05HR and I seem to have a bit of shaft play. I saw the housing had a bit of different colour due to the wheel rubbing on it and the ends of the fins on the wheel had a bit of different colours too.

My question is, is it worth rebuilding with a kit such as:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/220617218452...#ht_7117wt_971

Or do I need to replace my whole turbo?

It still boosts fine and no boost fluctuations.

Thanks in advance!

are you trying to keep the car close to stock? if not very expensive to pick up green or red. perfect time to upgrade.

IMHO, I would never use ebay parts on a turbo.

^^this is pretty good advice. Don't risk it.

There isn't much you can do with rebuilding an 8 turbo...my old 8 turbo is sitting on a display shelf in my living room. Find yourself a used 9 turbo (or new for about $1000), or call up FP/CBRD/MAP and see what they can offer you

You can find used Evo 8 turbos for sale in the classified section on here. Most will be in great condition that you can just bolt right on and you won't have to change a thing.

It is not worth rebuilding, especially with some ebay parts.
