They both have the same lift. As for lag, you won't be able to feel the difference if there is any.

I had 272's had and now 280's, no difference in lag.

What ever you decide to do please buy a cam that will actually give you a good power band and not 20 hp over stock. Idk much about the hks 280s but if there like the 272s there a joke. I would buy GSC cams or Kelfords.

^Agreed, but he has a evo lV (4).

tzoyi, I can't really give you any difference as in numbers, as I never dynoed my car when I had the 272's.

I made 373whp with the hks 280's.
Stock block, stock head, stock IM/ tb, stock fmic, stock licp. lX turbo
Injen Intake, uicp, 3" Full tbe, fic 1250 inj. 92 oct. 24psi

And 444whp with the above parts + fp black and tubular ex mani, o2 dump.
92 oct. 29psi.

Both with conservative tunes.

I think You should have no problems with the 280's making decent power with the mods you have already. You have better parts than I do. LOL

Cool, If I were to do it all over I would probably go with the gsc s2. It's just that with the 280's I didn't have to change springs. But you have a built head and if they make the gsc s2 for your engine, that would be your best choice.
Good luck

HLS 264/272/280 is old design
GSC S2,Kelfrod,HKS 274/278,Tomei,JUN etc all outperform HKS 264/272/280
