Just pulled the 03 Evo motor. What to do now
I see what your saying about a new oil cooler. damn I already spent around 4k for everything. Wouldn't want to ruin that. Anyone have recommendations for somethin around 200.00?
THIS is for you my friend, good luck with your build

Get a STM oil cooler delete kit for $20, it blocks off the 2 oil lines at the oil pump. Once the motor is well broke in, find a good used oil cooler(off a running engine) or upgrade to a STM piece at a great price. This is what I'm doing and it'll keep you from damaging a new motor and will keep the new oil cooler clear of any major metal shavings from break-in.

scrivs - detonation from bad gas. They took a sample and determined that the gas was lower ocatance - around 90
UPDATE for everyone
Purchased a 9 turbo and sent it off to be upgraded to 71HTA, FP Wastegate, and 84mm comp cover. Also I have added a jmf o2 dump and will be running a little bit of methanol. Buschur intercooler also... The engine has about 1700 miles on it and is running strong. I still haven't been able to go WOT in 1700 miles. Still on a partial throttle break-in tune.
I did beat my friends 2004 Cadillac CTS-v only running him from a stop with half throttle and shifting at 6500 rpms
Gotta love AWD
