hx35 oil line questions

I have been searching for the past couple nights about what oil restricter size to run if any?

I have found that a -10AN drain at the least, and haven't found anything on the feed sizes.

I recently picked up an hx35 and polishing it all up and waiting on a few things before the install, but I would love to figure this out now and order parts.

I wont be installing it til spring but i would like to have everything ready.

The dsm forums are gonna be your best bet with anything Holset related.

Here is your answer

Feed : -4an with the black forced performance inline filter from oil filter housing and -10an return line.

Also, we are in the same boat. My hx35 and manifold are both in the mail on way to me..

I'll be doing the setup in the spring as well with e85 and 91... Lets keep each other posted.

You are goin with the BEP .70 housing right? vband wastegate etc etc. I need the custom downpipe still.

I use hx40 with a machined garrett ar.70 turbine housing
I never had any smoking issue with oil line in the link.

I ran a 7 blade hx35 w/ bep .70 ar housing on my 2.3l Evo 8. I used a banjo fitting (I think 12mm but can't quite remember) to -4an adapter at the turbo. I then used a fitting that adapted the factory oil feed from the head to -4an and ran a line steel braided line from there. Used a -10an return line to the pan. All parts were picked up from atpturbo.com

Your best bet is to NOT just go with what someone else has done and actually see what your pressure is first.

Get a good aftermarket gauge in line with your turbo and rev the car real fast to red line. See what your oil pressure is at that point. If its over I think its 80 or so its TOO HIGH. Put a restrictor in there. If your pressure is under that then you are ok. Try different combinations before you go do some driving.

This is the ONLY fool proof way to run your holset correctly without having it blow up prematurely.
