Over boosted ???

Would the weather make the car overboost? The cold! A friends car keeps hitting the warning light of the boost gauge! It's not set too low, it's actually higher than it sould be!
Thanks

Yes.. the extreme cold can affect the density of the air.. the net effect is its equivalant to raising the boost... However its possible the cold dense air is inducing boost spike, therefore it would trigger the warning lamp, but you might not see it if you glance down at the gauge.

He has the DEFI boost gauge (Me too) so it has a warning tone and the light!

He should be fine. The stock boost cut interrupts pretty early, especially when it is cold outside. It can be a little frightening, as its a pretty violent jerk. Mine has interrupted as low as 20.5 psi before.
