o2 sensor time.

Hey guy's just need some feedback, looking at replacing all of my o2 sensors this month. I have never done it before, and am not 100% sure on what to buy. Any specific brand/type I should look into? I know they have 4-wire and 3-wire. Don't know which would be better, any help is much appreciated!

Just go to your local parts store and they can look up the correct part in the system. I'm not sure what brand these Evo's use, may be Denso. Unless you want an OEM sensor, than you would have to go to the dealer.

Any specific reason you want to replace both sensors? The OEM sensors are $300 a piece. If it is not bad don't change it.

Get a universal and wire it in. Will save you $250

Reason is when I start my car up it takes a few minutes for the A/F ratio to give me a reading, and after it does read it is going bananas. Under a load it will read 10.0 and cruising it will go between 12.0 and 16.0 so I am guessing the sensors are shot. I am changing the plugs as well.

I didn't think any evo had stock o2 sensors capable of wideband readings.. do you have some kind of wideband setup?

You can get a Walker brand (both the front and rear) o2 sensor from oxygensensors.com

You can buy either the OE replacement that is plug and play, or a universal one that needs to be wired in. I'd recommend the OE replacement.

That's a good point. yellaevo, are you talking about replacing the oem o2 sensors or the sensor for your wideband gauge? Are you still on the factory ecu or a standalone?

I'll post a video later of what it does when I start it up. My actual A/F ratio gauge is not working at all, no lights or anything. I use my apexi boost controller to get the readings.

Yeah I am on factory ECU, does that make a difference?

Like another poster already stated; is this for your Wideband (AEM, etc)? If so, just use the Bosch replacement they recommend.

EDIT: Sorry, missed the fact that you were using your boost controller for the readings...

I got a denso o2 sensor for my old 1g a couple years ago, it was plug and play with no cutting wires. It was like 75 shipped from sparkplugs.com.
