6262 vs 6266.

Hi.

I`m having a hard time choosing what turbo i should choose. i know there should not be much difference.. but just want to make the right choice..
So please lett me know what you think.

The 2 turbo`s i stand between is

6262 AR 0.82 t3 (CEA)
6266 AR 0.63 t3 (CEA)

This is to be used on a 2.1 liter engine at about 35-37psi and about 750-800crank.

Who would you choose? who do you think will make the most hp? Who will spool the fastest?

Why get a bigger hot side and choke it off with a smaller AR. According to precision the 6266 should spool the same as the 6262 non cea.

^^ Do NOT get a .63. Get a .82 with either of those turbos. The .63 will be a waste on either of those turbos as the increase in spool won't make up for how much it chokes you on the top end. I'd recommend the 6266, but I may be biased. I'm seeing 550wtq @ 5k rpms on e98 (2.3L).

I'd love to see a test of these 2 turbos both with a .82A/R hotside.

I think the 6262 would be a lot nicer and not act as lazy as the 6266 would, in the past turbos with equal sized wheels have gotten a lot better feedback that ones with a bigger exh. wheel.

Good luck.

The best street combo up to 650 whp is a 6262 .63 ar.If you won't a bit more lag,and more top end pull then get the 6262 or 6266 in a .82.I ran the 6262 .63 ar in my stock 2.0 with fbo all supporting mods pump gas(93 oct) and made 575 whp at 30 psi with no addded back pressure and full boost at 5,100rpms..The .63 is good up to 650 whp before needed to go bigger.

I'm running a 6262 .63 ar and love it. I've made over 650 awhp on my 2.0 and spool is great. I've heard the 6266 .82 ar is a bit laggy compared to a 6262

Not a good example since you have a 2.3 rather then a 2.0 or 2.1 which yields in faster spool up.

Correct, but two posts above you state 30 psi@5100 on a 2.0l. So its fairly compable to each other.

Not really 400 rpms is a bid difference on the street when a car pulls up and your trying to hit full boost.

i agree, i dont mean to compare my 2.3 to a 2.0 only to say the turbo seems pretty consistant. if i had a dbb and twin scroll it might help with spool up also
