Need opinions on a creative intake design
This is what I did: Got an 8" by 8" by 8" cardboard box. Painted it black. Cut it to fit MAF tube. The stock snorkle fits nicely on top. Also got some 2.5" or 3" tubing at Home Depot and ran it from the front opening on the driver's side of the car (Evo 8) up to underneath the filer. Was a major PITA to snake it through with the ACD pump in the way. Like I almost gave up PITA. It should hopefully be getting more air than with just the snorkle. And I also took some weatherstripping out around where the stock snorkle goes to get more air in. Just be forewarned that your engine bay will get WAY dirtier.
Prs in Sanford did a custom box set up for my car, the bottom of the box is fed from the rexpeed air intake duct, the front of the box is fed through an air intake headlight duct. Car made 775/650 at 36lbs on e85. It is a sealed box. I will try to find some better pics of how it is set up.

I will try to find some more pics of the ducting and in the inside of the sealed box. We did notice a huge difference when we took the top off and did a few pulls with it sucking in hot engine bay air vs the sealed box and clean cold air. It is a worth while mod for sure but allot of work to make it right.
