Modded oil Pump?

I've seen a few guys mention about modifying the OEM oil pump. just wondering of what this consists of, i'm also assuming the main benefit is increased oil pressure.

thanks guys!

Good topic Pete, I've been wondering the same. I doubt it's for higher pressure though, probably just increased reliability.

People sometimes modify the relief valve to stop over pressurizing at high RPM I believe by making the relief passage bigger. It's a bigger thing in the DSM world.
