Active Differential Question/Issue

I drive a 2006 EVO IX, I recently wrecked it however and while it was being repaired I came to find out that the wrong fluid was put back into the Active Differential. I drove it for about 20-30 miles and noticed it obviously wasn't driving right and all 3 lights came on. I immediately took it to a mitsubishi dealership here and they informed me the wrong fluid was put back in ..... My question is how bad did this mess the differential up? Will I need a whole new system now?

Thanks

That sucks! OEM fluid is the way to go, especially with ACD / Diff components. It doesn't sound like you drove it very far with the non - OEM fluid, so hopefully you are ok. Maybe someone else can comment on how to check an ACD?

Dont listen to what the dealership said they are just trying to mess with you. Your best bet is to do the knowledge yourself and stop taking it to the dealer. First find a repable shop that works and specializes in evos if you cant do the work. Most of all try to get the knowledge from the forums yourself. Now when you notices the 3 lights blinking on the acd indicator. You have 3 options and 3 scenarios for this.

1) Air in the acd system highly unlikely but its possible
2) You need to rebleed the system its kind of like bleeding your brakes but its really easy all you need is a brake bleeder and 2 people one to crack open the nipple valve and have the person turn the car in the acc on position but dont start it and hold their foot down on the gas (REMEMBER DO NOT START THE CAR WHILE YOUR UNDER IT!)
3) Your acd pump is on its way out from the solinoid or the pump itself is old.
if you need to reach me lemme know 1-347-614-3743 Also dont drive the car like that for long it can damage your driveline by damaging the transfercase. I hope you have been using the recommended fluids.

Or go back to that dealer and tell them to replace your ACD because they're morons.

I'm not sure which fluid they put in exactly, I guess the dealer is going to bleed the system and refill it with the CORRECT fluid and see if it's ok....

I cant see 20-30 miles of even the wrong fluid damaging the system. More than likely while it was being repaired they cracked open the acd line and assumed they could just top it back off. Your 3 lights came on because it probably just needs to be bled. Air in the system also means the acd cant function like it should and thats maybe why its driving like that. G/L
