Budget will be 10 - 15K. Target time for build is 18 months.

I currently own a 2005 Evo 8 with mild mods. I bought it used with 38K miles.

There are very few mods from what I could tell.

Fuel management
Turbo timer
Hks evc
Fuel injectors

I'm a newbie when it comes to cars so any guidance would be appreciated.

I've searched a few threads and saw FP turbos are reliable and depending on what I want will affect which color I should get.

My goal is to get to 400 HP as a daily drive on pump.

I will not be doing the work. I live close enough to RRE and have professionals do the work.

So I'm thinking I need:

Reflash
Full exhaust
Downpipe
LSD
Bigger turbo

I don't mind stretching my budget to 20K but that would put my build and save time to 24 months.

 

When you say your goal is 400hp, what do you mean? To the engine or to the wheels?

400hp = full TBE, cams, stock lX turbo(used ones go for like nothing), fuel pump, and tune.
400Whp = same as above + bigger cams, and better fuel. (e-85, race)

What's the LSD for? Do you plan on tracking the car? If not then I would say that's a personal preference option. Not needed to make 400hp.
