timing belt question help!
so im in the market for a new evo since my last one was rear ended and totaled about a month ago
. i have come across one being sold within driving distance of me which seems to be in great shape, one adult owner, garage kept, 100% bone stock. my only issue with the car is that its got 73k miles on it and the 60k service was never done... if i buy the car i will get the service done within a week or so, but i really dont want the belt to go on my 2 hour ride home. ive searched and found ppl who have gone way longer than 60k on a stock belt but most ppl choose not to risk it(i changed mine around 55k on my last one)am i being crazy or is this something i should be concerned about? also is there anything to look for on the belt to see what kind of shape its in? thanks alot guys!

just bought a 05 rs, had 78k when I bought it, bone stock on the original belts. Drove 6 hours to get her home. As soon as I got home, took it in to get the 60k. Timing belt looked a little worn but the serpentine belt was shot. I wouldn't worry about it though, just don't beat on it and drive it normally until you get the service done.
