i need help with my Evo 4 gearbox parts!

Hello guys!

I would like to know what can I do:

I need 2nd, 3rd and 4th synchros, sleeve (sliders) and seals.

I have problem grinding 2nd and 3rd gear when I race and reving highs RPM´s, for that I need to change those parts.

Remember, is an Evo 4 and I´m not from USA, so I need the parts to rebuild my gearbox in my country. I talked with Shep but he needs to see the parts in pictures, and right now the gearbox is on the car, but maybe someone here can help me with that parts!

Thanx!

99% sure that the evo 4-9 gearbox internals are the same, obviously there are some small differences with ratio's etc, but the synchro's should be fine.

only real difference is the 1/2 syncros.
evo 4 syncro is double
evo 8 is triple
the 8 will work on the 4 but the 4 will not work on the 8. the 8 syncro will work as a double syncro. the third friction surface is on the gear. the 4 gear doesnt have it.

and reverse syncro is double on evo 8. it is single snycro on the 4. they are not interchangable. the 5th gear 8 syncro should work for reverse on the 4.

all sliders, hubs, forks, seals are the same

high rpm grinding means you have a heavy clutch disc , warped clutch disc (dragging) or pressure plate that is not disengaging all the way. you may not need a trans build at all.

have you tested to see if the clutch is dragging?

Put the car onto a level surface (parking lot etc), put the car isn't 1st gear, push the clutch in and rev to 7000rpm.
Do not release the clutch. See if the car starts to creep forward. If it does, you need to adjust your clutch.

I have EVO IV and currently running with EVO 8 gears with syncros, so be sure it will work 100% also if you have enough budget you can easily to for Sheptrans gears for evo 8

good luck

Wrong. My 7 parts are different from 8 and 9. The 1st and 2nd synchros are different, so are the gears. Reverse is also different.

Hello man! Like I said, I only want 2nd, 3rd and 4th repair kit.

Shep told me he can send a "repair kit" than include synchros, sliders and seals, but I think only include for 2nd, 3rd and 4th. I´m not an expert in transmissions but, can I use only those parts in my gearbox, I mean fit in my gearbox if I don´t change 1st, 5th and reverse synchros and sliders?

better if you buy them with input and output shafts

buy the way 4-5-6-7-8 gearbox internals are interchangeable, my car is running with evo 4 front diff that is located in gearbox + evo 8 gear sets + evo 7 reverse gear

works fine so far
