Want to reach 500whp(suggestions)

Running a 04 evo 8, Hks 272's, buschur ix turbo, 650cc injectors and full race manifold no waste gates. Ams inter cooler and piping... Got a 11k quote for a build for 500hp, includes hta 3582r and 2.3 stroker but I want to see what people suggest because I want a new setup but don't have 11k!
Thanks for the input!

Spend some time and scroll through the dyno results thread and look for the numbers your after and then read the mods to achieve such results..

Are you hoping to reach this on a dynojet or mustang dyno? if yes to a dyno jet then do what i have and that'll get you there, if your looking to hit it on a mustang dyno, you can pretty much forget it without a built motor...that is say doing it safely...she'll reach 500whp with a stock motor/head but it wont last long

Thanks for the input, I'll read the dyno threads...and don't have any awd dynos here so just gotta go for it, build it then drag the car out to WA! I was gonna do valve springs and retainers head studs and replace the head gasket with oem while I'm in there but how do u strengthen the block?

you can't strengthen the block itself but you can rebuild the engine with good forged internals. I'm doing a 2.3 build right now... sending the block to the machine shop to hot tank, line hone, bore, and balance the new rotating assembly. it will be a nice little engine.

i decided to go wit the eagle .020 2.3 kit. Budget had a big role in this choice, i would have loved to go with manley rods and wiseco or je pistons. But i've used eagle cranks and rods in almost all of my small block chevy's and never had any problems handling over 500hp.

yeah but theres a difference between doing it right and blowing all your money on top of the line, super go fast parts lol

just ask questions and most importantly read, read, read. I've learned a lot from the people here.

I assume your wanting to do this on pump gas right? It wouldn't be a problem but some things you will have to have are bigger injectors, bigger turbo, and I would go with some more aggressive cams. The hks cams are very mild in my opinion

Yes it will be 93, no e85 here. But which cams would work better? I'm gonna go with a fp hta 3582r setup if I can sell my buschur turbo!

If you want to do this on a budget, I would suggest staying with a stock frame turbo. Since you have said you will be using pump/93, I would suggest the EF4 as it cannot be beat price wise and can easily make 500whp on pump without necessarily needing all of the usual compliment of parts that are used to extract power. The torque, which is what you should worry about, can easily be kept in check with ECU-controlled boost meaning that you can keep you current engine safe. Budget in mind. Goals easily achieved!
