Bump! Anyone else got Manley rings? Which category you go off? I'm basing my calculations on the street option which is borex.0045" maybe I should go for the blown option which is bore x.0055"?

Also make sure you run the right piston to wall gap. What kind of power you looking to make

I asked English racing this is what he said for ring gap .050 x bore size for the top ring and 0.055 x bore size (in inches of course) for the second ring. And for piston to wall 4.5 thou- up to 500whp,
5 thou- up to 700whp, 5.5-6 thou- 700-1000

I'm working on the same thing. Manley pistons with 87mm bore in my 2.4LR. Good to know for sure about the oil rail support. But my concern is the top ring. There's no dot, and no bevel to tell which side goes up. Also, we should be using blown gas, right? I'll be running strictly pump gas. But just double checking.

Manley don't actually make the rings but if you contact total seal and tell them what your setup is and your goals they will suggest a recommended ring gap.... I did this and they advised me gaps specs that were totally different to what Manley recommends on their crappy tech sheet ..... You will find it won't be far off what people recommend running

Yea it would be nice if someone that has used many sets of manleys pistons would say what they are goin off for their application.

Im goin for a 2.0LR setup with 156mm Manley I-Beams and pistons (85.5mm) by manley made specifically for these rods...would be nice for a little more insight

So I'm lookin at:
Manley-
.018 top .0055
.011 2nd .0035

ER (quoting from NewEvolutionIX)-
.016 top .0050
.018 2nd .0055

^which one have you guys gone with?

I have used similar to the last one from ER only even bigger gap like 0.020 top and 0.022 2nd on my 85.5 mm. (dont remember 100%) I have not driven the car much, but have run many 1/8 pulls with 9500-9900 rpm and it does not throw out any oil yet.
I was abit sceptical using that big gaps, but many enginebuilders have recommended these gaps and it seems to work well.
