Rear diff upgrade...
Im pretty sure I have toasted my rear diff and rather than going back stock I was looking for some other options, if I can afford it. I was looking at the TRE MAXLOCK. Pretty sure i'd just have to buy it outright, since I think mine is scrap. Think the price is $850 flat out per the site, did I read that right?Anyone using this one?

there is a ring where the driveshaft comes into the rear diff that looks like it came loose and let all my oil out. Idk what it is, I have some more DiaQueen but dont wanna fill it up if its all gonna come back out.

mine is an 8 so they shouldnt be backwards, it slung all the oil out and there were shavings on the drain plug. The ring seems to be made of metal, in any event ill be pulling it out per the How-To to take a better look at it

The 8s are in the wrong order too as far as I know of.
If yours is that bad, get a used one out of the classifieds and re do the discs or get the 12 disc upgrade and do it your self.

That's labour & parts; shipping extra - you supply the diff. Still a deal.
Just got one ... plan on waiting for a little while .... looking forward to putting it in and trying it out ....

anyway, that said, depends how hardcore you want to go:
if you're restricted by class, you can only do a plate rearrangement
if you're on a budget, you can try a weir 12 plate arrangement, which i believe comes in 1 way and 1.5 way configurations
if you're willing and patient, you can get a full TRE 1.5 way with all the trimmings (HD side cover, sight glass, shot peen, etc)
all out is cusco or carbonetics, i've got the cusco 1.5 way, it bangs all day long, and TRE can also treat these with full trimmings

a LOT of people are using it - including the 2010 (and i believe 2011) scca t2 champ - and any evo that is competitive anywhere is running SOME form of upgraded rear diff

Im not budget and not ***** out, so ima go TRE. I know TRE has a $600 core charge (which gets refunded) but I dont want to send them mine and I be garbage and not be able to use it. Idk if it could be used as a good core or not??
TRE price depends on if you have a good core to start with. If your Ring/pinion is trashed then the price will jump dramatically.
