Clutch / Trans Issue.... Fluid Everywhere....
Clutch / Trans Issue.... Fluid Everywhere....
Hey everyone,
So here is my problem, I was driving home yesterday and felt the clutch pedal getting a little to soft. It pretty much felt like the line was full of air. I brought it in to work and thought I would just bleed the system and everything would be ok.... I was wrong! So I bled the TOB, Im running a RPS Carbon Twin with the Hydraulic TOB. Pedal feel returned to normal BUT when I pulled it out of the shop there was a HUGE puddle of brake fluid on the ground. I put the car on the lift and saw that it was leaking from the cover that is right by the starter. I pulled off those screws and didnt see much. I looked through the inspection hole and can see the two lines that run to the Cylinder. I had a buddy pump the clutch a few times to see if the lines were leaking and didnt see any leaks. I cant see the bottom of the TOB so I dont know if its pouring out of there or not. Any one have any ideas what could be going on here? Im assuming that the TOB took a Sh*t on me.
A little more info,
1.The clutch has been in the car for about 15000 - 20000 miles
2.I didnt do the install so I dont know if it was shimmed or not ( Dont know if its required or not )
3.The pedal has been acting a little strange every once in a while, on very hot days the clutch pedal would only come back half way, after I pulled it back up it would work fine and give me no issues ( Only once on start up, not every time I shift )
4.I dont have a pedal stop, and now Im kind of scared because I have been reading about people warping things ( Disks ) and putting to much load on everything because of to much travel of the Hydraulic TOB.
5.Every once in a while I would feel the car try to creep forward on me after start-up even in neutral, Not bad at all but noticeable, but didnt get any noise or any grinding. Which kind of leads me to believe something is warped ( See point above )
FML.......
Thanks in advance!

I wrote RPS an Email and am waiting on their response
Any info you guys have would be greatly appreciated!!

So I talked with RPS and they told me that I would have to disassemble everything and see whats going on in there. They dont want to send me a new TOB without being sure that the TOB is the problem. I can understand that, so Im not mad about it. Kind of sucks since I wanted to limit the downtime but I guess safer is better!
