OEM or Aftermarket harmonic balancer on a 4g64?

Can I run a oem 4g63 harmonic balancer on my 2.4L? Crank was fully balanced and micro polished. MAP I beam rods and wiseco 1400hd pistons.
Thanks

Have you tried to see if the 4G63 HB will bolt up to your 2.4L crank? It's not a manditory upgrade but every little thing counts in the end when chasing a goal.
But it should work...

Did the it come with one?

IF it didn't then..............

There is no shortage of 4G64's running around. First i heard of anyone inquiring about this.

Yes it bolts right up.
No goals at all. Just want to finnaly put the engine in, take it to the tuner, get it tuned and enjoy it after its been sitting for 7months now.

Harmonic damper is tuned to the frequency of a STOCK motor. Can you run a stock damper on a modified engine? Sure you can. You can do whatever you want. Will a viscous fluid filled damper custom balance and dampen harmonics for your particular modified engine? Yes it will.

all dampers need to be tuned to the particular harmonics of the specific engine. there is no one size fits all universal damper made. that being said, i trust that mitsubishi has more engineering into theirs than fluiddamper does in their entire lineup.

Yes. Engineering for a stock motor harmonics dampening at 281bhp.

Is there a direct correlation between horsepower and the frequency at which harmonics occur? If there is, then fluidamper needs more than one model to cover the different power ranges.
