6puck question
6puck question
so my first stick car is a 6puck evo and im moving along great, no one thought i would be able to drive it and i drive fine but sometime i find myself letting the clutch up a bit to fast when shifting and ill get a jolt sound or a clunk mainly in the rear, i know its me thats doing it and it only happens when driving slow bc when shifting going fast its easier to let up, is it that bad or is it just me shifting sloppy sometimes, i dont want to cause premature failure on my tranny or something. i know its a pretty nasty clutch anyone have some tips or something for a new driver? everyone else that has heard it says its not much to worry about.

Take it easy there Mr. Force!
Yes, dropping the clutch out is not good for the car. I have not had the joy of driving one yet but, I hear the 6 puck is a bit like a light switch and can be a little heavier than others.
Wait till you get on another car with a stick the pedal will feel like a feather.

Not attempting to shift at light speed will help as well. I hear that noise (sometimes while messing up) when doing a hard fast down shift while attempting to pass on the highway.
The OP was mentioning getting this while driving slowly. Also that this is the first time to own a car that is a manual. No matter how you look at it. Don't try shifting so fast. Will it spontaneously explode no, but it not good to do either. Unless you are drag racing it is not necessary to shift in less than a 1/4sec.
Anyway good luck with it.
