have you ever taken the back seat out? It weighs next to nothing. Unless you're building an all out race car, leave it where it is.

It is like 20lbs, I would rather have my car look nice on the inside than be 20lbs lighter.

The seat bottom is really light. One possible annoyance with just doing this is that the rear seat belts can rattle around. I removed the rear seat back, rear seat bottom, and the seatbelts. IIRC, all of it was like 21 lbs. Im building a track car so that was one motivating factor to delete it.

As stated if you are looking for every pound in a total drag/circuit car then its not really worth it. Its easy enough to remove at the track if you are that concerned about it.

I pulled the rear seats as one of the first things I did in my car. I never ever took more than 1 passenger in the car anyway. Then again, I'm insane and gutted my car, deleted ac/stereo, put in some light bucket seats with 6-point harnesses and called it a day. For me all that matters is performance... I bought the Evo for a raw sports car, not a 4-door sedan family mobile. Your mileage may vary.

I leave it in for DD'ing but for time attack I take it out. It doesn't weigh much but everything adds up.

I did it once and weighted them. You gain next to nothing especially when people see it and they think you are 1000 lbs lighter... Never did it again...

If you want weight savings, Buschur has a number of products that can help you shed weight, plus the front seats can save a lot of weight... And the car still looks nice.
