OEM Turbo Gauge Vacuum Tube HELP

Can someone please explain what their gauge does? Mine is at 0 with the car off then once I turn it on the needle drops to like 25 or 30. And goes up to around 1.0 when full throttle.

EDIT: Hey guys, does anyone have a video of their stock MR tubro gauge when the car turns on and while driving? I need to see if mine is functioning correctly because I am not totally sure. THANKS GUYS!

Hi guys,

Anyone know what part number or where I can get the stock vacuum tube thats connected to the OEM turbo gauge for a 2006 Evo MR? Mine has some cracks in it causing the gauge to malfunction so I need to replace it.

Thanks!

You can get the tubing at any auto parts store and have it cut to any length you want.

edit: NAPA is the store I had in mind, they have a box near the front with various size tubing so you should be able to get it from there.

normal 4mm ID vacuum hose is the same as 5/32, so ask for 5/32 ID and they'll have it

I went to autozone and napa and ended up getting the only 5/32 vacuum tubbing they had. Only thing is it is 2.8mm not 4mm? Its not as thick as the stock one seems. Do you guys think this will still be ok?

what do you mean? you're answering your own question. it's at 0 because the engine isn't on so it's not sucking in air or creating boost. hence vacuum, which in your case is measured in cm/Hg then shoots up to 1.0 bar. my auto meter reads vacuum in in/hg and psi. so your 25-30 cm/hg is very normal, you don't have a vacuum leak. and 1.0 bar is roughly 14.5 psi, and if you are stock your gauge is either wrong or you have a boost leak because 19 is roughly the normal but it does taper down to around 14 at WOT.

Answer your question?

You're awesome man thanks. That actually helped a lot I honestly didn't know how to read it correctly.
