is the MAP EF4 too much for my setup? should i get a FP green/red instead?
I'd personally stick to an EF2 or EF3 on the stock block; you won't even come close to taking full advantage of an EF4 and have to deal with the increased lag (pointless if you can't fully take advantage of the turbo).
but does that lag actually end up saving the block due to the prolonged torque curve?
EDIT: I've never been in any other Evo except my own so I don't know how severe the lag is when you guys say lag... I can't compare it to a FP green/red/black because I've never been in any other Evo

would an FP Green make full TQ numbers before an EF3? What about an EF2?
Where does an FP Red fit in that spectrum of full TQ? (I'm trying to run stock block without adding a custom window to it...)

Depends on who you have tune the turbo and if you plan on upgradeing motors down the line. If I had the money or had everything to rebuild at this point that graph would be a lot different. I wouldn't have a drawn out hold back tq and I would have more power and not cap it where it is at.

I guess I'm wondering if peak numbers made actually sacrifice the overall speed of the car. In other words a 600hp car may be slower than a 550hp car that hits boost quick and makes full power sooner??
yeah I noticed that when you said you had an EBC. So do you think your car would be slower than a car at less power that hits full boost quicker and has it for the whole powerband?

Big turbos on stock block cars make for boring driving under 5000... and a narrow powerband because a stock block is limited on the RPM on the upper end...
It's always a great idea to actually drive a car built like yours before you spend big bucks to hope you like the outcome
