So... you guys have it venting upwards with an open pipe to collect rain... for what reason exactly? It flows worse, and can collect rain water, but it sounds cool?

Any data to support this? Also, the water issue has been addressed a few times in the comments above.

And collecting rain matters....why? It's possible it flows less, but to be honest, the smiles I get from having a flame come out the hood are priceless. Fun > .036WHP.

I really don't see rain as that big of a deal. I guess I'll find out soon enough as we get into fall/winter.

I like the novelty of the idea but I'm still up in the air about which way I'll go. Hopefully it arrives by Monday, since that is the day I'm getting the tune and porting done.

I was responding to the quote in my post that said "Yeah it probably flows worse but..."

It just seems like a super ricey way of routing it to me. Water draining into your exhaust outlet to pool outside the wastegate flapper is NOT a good thing. Each to their own, but I cannot think of a single good reason to do this.

how would the water hurt this? like its been stated before if water gets in it to begin with, with one pull the water would be cleared. does anyone make one for the stock location setups? the only pic i see that may be stock location is the toxicfab one. i actually think it should be quieter than venting toward the ground. especially since mine is only inches from the ground.

Bump:

Recently been hearing about how short dumps cause drops in power. Not enough back pressure. Some dyno graphs showing 30-50 hp loss? Anyone else heard if this? Thks

that seems odd to me, as the wastegate really doesn't mess with power, but instead boost control. It simply vents the exhaust gas that would otherwise overspool the turbo...

Maybe you were referring to the downpipe, or maybe I'm just a dumbass. If it's the latter, then I apologize

Only way I see it robbing power is the exhaust gas getting absorbed into the intake and resulting in less air in motor = less power
