What is the best Intake Mani?

seems to be a lot of mystery behind which intake manifold id the best.i have seen most of the tests and honestly the results don't make sense.

i saw one where the F1 crushed the DI,then i saw another where the magnus beats the F1,then the Buschur beats the magnus and the DI.

anyway,is there any real proof out there as to which is the best intake.
i currently have the VSR,and would switch to any of the above if i thought i would gain a sizeable amount of power.

the intake will be for a 2.4 long rod and an ETS 6466 turbo and GSC S3 cams.

Well according the AMS, their F1 outperformed the VSR by an average of 15-17 hp.

TBH, all the top name ones are pretty decent, given your set up one may make more power than the other, and on someone elses set up, the other may make more power than the one you have.

Cam Selection, boost, an engines VE play a huge roll, it takes a ton of reading on your end to search for results on the different possible combo's and then piece your build together.

You cant just look at something and say "Oh this guy made this power with these cams, that guy made that power with that intake manifold, the other guy made that power with that turbo", and buy all the above and put them together and expect it to work because people made the power using that particular part on a different combination than yours.

Cam selection should be a huge part in your decision of what manifold to buy also, so just do a bunch of reading and you'll see what to use

For a large displacement, large turbo motor it hard to beat the cast Magnus.

I've seen the cast magmus make very nice power even though my VSR kick butt for many years.

For the price to power ratio, I do not think there is a better solution than the Curt Brown extreme ported intake manifold, my friend.

From Curt's website:

"Latest and greatest ported intake manifold offering is this, after all my testing ive found this unit to out perform all other manifolds even my favorite Skunk2 that set all the HP records on my car. Starting with my extreme port job intake we tig weld a 70mm 1/2 flange to the manifold greatly increasing plenum volume and allowing for a Skunk2 68mm, Full Blown 70mm or S90 70mm TB to be bolted up with no sealing issues or neck down restrictions, on my car 50whp and 40#'s of tq were gained at 4500rpm over the Skunk2 and still made 3whp more up top, this was at 28psi on 93 on a MD and a Red. Also we can add a Boomba 75mm plate to run the Boomba 75mm TB which I bore to 70mm."

Gotcha. The MAP Rev2 only supports up to a 65mm TB, so with less flow it will not perform as well.

That's what I'm thinking.

My IM is at Curts now getting the Extreme Port done, so I'll surely update you on how it feels with the Full Blown 70mm once I get my motor issues resolved.

We did the test on the AMS versus the Magnus and posted results and video. Magnus made 7whp more peak and spooled 150rpm sooner than the AMS F1 while making 15-20whp more out the top.

Test was done on a 2.4 with FP Black awhile ago, I'll see if I can find it.
