Quick trans questionnssss
I have my motor and trans out, trans for some new synchros and freshen up. 2 questions,
I want my 5th gear to be Longer...as in I want to be at a lower rpm while cruising on the highway...Can I just change the 5th gear? Or do I need to change the final drive which will lower the rpm in ALL the gears (add mph)?
I don't think it's possible since the one gear is built onto the shaft but I have seen options for a different ratio on Jack's or Shep's? trans site so confused by that.I'm debating on the 4/4.11 FD kit since I'm on the highway alot.
And what's the difference from a normal synchro and a triple synchro? I assume just more contact surfaces like a triple disc clutch VS a single disk....right?
