Does drifting cause damage to the diffs in an evo?
I was wondering if all that drifting I see going on with EVOs is bad for its LSDs... dosn't a drift fight against the diffs the entire time? So how common are broken diffs due to drifting?
You would think so wouldn't you? I mean it's not like it has computer controlled diffs, just mechanical units that are always trying to make things 50/50. Drifting I can imagine requires the back tires breaking loose, so the center diff is probably getting stressed out. I know in the owner's manual it says not to spin too much in the snow because it's bad for the car. That's probably a good indicator right there.
