Thinking of switching to a 3 port

Well right now I'm running a hallman pro mbc on my stock motor ix tuned at 28psi on e85. Since weather fluctuates pretty good here in AZ I was wondering if I would be better or going with a ebcs. I overboost quite a bit sometime since it can be 75 during the day and 40's at night. From what I have read they can hold boost better and can be tuned for more specifics such as load or gear based boost. Just wondering what everyone's input was and if it is worth the switch? Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

I use a GM3port--ECM controlled and have almost the same climate and no issues with overboost. Thats why I went with it as well.

Thanks, thats my main reason since the mbc has no control over that.

I went with a gruppe s 3 port. I've had a greedy profex b spec 2 ebc, a dejon tool mbc, and not this although adjustments are nice with the mbc, a 3 port is better stealth for one, using our stock ecu u can manipulate the boost profile perfectly unlike the mbc which is a huge peak spike then can bleed off quickly. The profec ebc was a biotch to have setup properly. My advice go with a 3 port....preferably one that is plug n play no wire splicing needed.

I've seen a lot of good feedback on the Grimmspeed 3 port from EVO and STi owners, I'm going to get one myself because of how wild our weather/climate can be around these parts. Worth the extra $20 IMO.

+1 for a 3-port, opens up so many options for tuning. Weather compensation, PSI- or load-based boost control and correction, gear-based boost control...

I ran an OEM 3 bar and Perrin ECU boost controller. Nice setup, and easy to install. The Perrin is plug-n-play.

i run the fftec 3-port. boost is smooth and consistent. its design is based off the GM 3-port, but made specifically for evo8/9 use

what about a hybrid ebcs/mbcs setup?

Good to know. Haven't looked much into the hybrid setup. Anyone chime in on this running it?
