Question boost gauge parts

just recieved my omori boost gauge, and was looking at the t-connector. does anybody know why the t-conector on one side has a metal thing in it (dont know the word to use), i know this is the side that goes to the sender. i looks like a restrictor.

i wanted to know is this the only t i can use so it works properly and do all t-connectors for boost gauges have this metal thing jammed into one side?

I have the same thing on my HKS meter, like a small brass jet. I guess it's there to smoothen the reading since a friend of mine forgot to put in the jet (comes lose in the T-pice plastic bag with the HKS) and his meter reading was fluctuating and as soon as he put it in it became stable but it still showed the same boost level. Might be to protect the meter in some way as well.

However it should be located towards the meter since you wouldn't want to restrict flow in what ever hose you use as boost reference. I mean in the downward pointing part of the T
