EBAY Radiator Review!
EBAY Radiator Review!
Ok so I blew my radiator tuning my car. Just a small crack in the top plastic but I kinda thought the plastic was a cover I didn't know that it was just a plastic top holding that pressure seems kinda bad QC. Anyway I was not looking to buy a radiator and when it blew I was not looking to spend a lot. I ended up looking for a used one but people still wanted 90-150 shipped!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? WAY TOO MUCH. Went to good ol eBay and found this puppy.

This had a much bigger core then stock. Dual Core and all billet.
This radiator is even bigger then Mishimoto and Koyo
This thing went in just fine. Everything bolted on. I can say that the fan screws were a little ruff. But I just forced them in =). Honestly that was the only problem I ran into on this item. Now my god this thing is thirsty OMG. I put by a close ball park some where between 2 1/2 to 3 gallons of anti freeze in her. I drained the stock one and refilled it right before it blew.....(waste of a wetter water =(....) And it took maybe a 1 1/3 gallons so I can only assume it well be rock solid on cooling.
I have only been on it tonight but I'm really glad it not a complete POS. I think it would be pretty are to make one worse then OEM but this thing is a good step above.
Only thing that was off was in the photo the chain was attached when I got it..... It puzzled me and a few of my friends as to why that would be needed? Any answers would be great we kind of have a bet going right now.
So if anyone's looking I am personally running this one and no issues with the new numbers 379/398 but ill update should anything happen.....

Thats a nice find! I bought one from 1-800radiators for $140 a few months ago and it was just a OE replacement, its been working perfect but this could be a good upgrade later on. Keep us posted to see how its been working for you.
Surprised you didn't find this

I did I looked it over and people were having problems. They were great for trackings and really any level of beating while the car was in motion. But in stop and go traffic people did notice a sizable spike. So in Phx with 100+ degree summers its not really an option.
I have a very similar radiator to the one you bought and it's been holding up perfect for the last couple years. I just have a 12" slim fan custom mounted to it, and have the fan programmed to come on only at 196*F. Been doing great, even idling in California summers where we get 100*+ days too.

still holding great. Honestly the thing is huge. Its a big guy took 4 days to fully fill it up I wanted it full everytime I opened it and since I've never had a problem this thing also works with the stock fan great. The intercooler pipe does touch the side of the fan doesnt mess anything up just it does touch it but with an upgraded short route or really most upgraded ones would fix this issue from the look of what ive seen of ets and ams.
Thanks to your review I replaced my second OEM radiator with this. It took about 1hr to fit it and so far no problems at all. The description is as you had indicated and the OEM radiator stays fit with no issues either. Thank you, overall very good and a pretty good buy if you want to go away from the plastic end tanks.
Good:
- Very well crafted with all the oem components lined up perfectly
- Thicker than stock but just enough to fit with no clearance issues
- Nice tabs and hangers with pretty decent welds it doesnt feel like its going to take bullet damage if a bug hits it!
Not so good:
- Its more of a minor gripe but just to be fair... the oem bolts for the fan need to be replaced and no hardware was included in packaging. A garage full of nuts and bolts made that a real non-issue.
